The Djimbisambinteriors Home Entryway: Creating a welcoming space

Did you know the entryway is one of the most important rooms to decorate in the house?

The first space that greets you whether a long and narrow hallway or a large rectangular one like ours shouldn’t be hindrance on making a great first impression!

And as seasons change, there are great ways of refreshing and indulging on my obsession with restyling- to much of husband’s dismay and eye roll!

For now, an open console table is styled with a large piece of artwork from Barker and Stonehouse and layered it with an abstract leaning piece from La joie de vivre collection from may store. Art doesn’t always need to be hung, lean them on the walls, floors - wherever floats your boat and have fun placing them in unexpected spaces- and most recently for me a beautiful floral piece above the loo!

Make sure tho have an impact with an extra floral arrangements of dried hydrangeas, the bigger the better in this case. And to balance the other side, I have a modern venetian table lamp from Next that juxtaposes beautifully with the other vintage elements such as the books and German Ewer candelabra I won at Denhams auctions. Console tables can feel bit lost on their own so a great tip is to style them next to a rattan basket with some cushions and throws and even some more books at the base like I did here. And of course we can never forget about our candles to create a scrumptious lingering scent to welcome you and your guests.
