Description
A stunning English late Victorian painted and decoupage 4-panel screen with figurative scenes on both sides of screen. It has a beautiful varnished patina and is decorated with some fantastic Victorian decoupage. The wooden base panel is ebonised and the decoupage scraps are a particularly charming mix of gentlemen, ladies, flowers, children and animals. It has two metal hinges to each joint and is a heavy, solid freestanding piece that would make areal statement in any room and add a great charm and sense of history.
This very elegant period screen divider is not only beautiful but also functional as it can be styled in a bedroom, dining room or living room and can be folded away when not in use.
One side of the 4 wooden panels is in great order whereas the other side has some damage in some places. It however doesn't take away from the beauty of this piece
